I wasn’t listening to music this week with my usual frequency or attentiveness. I will expand on that in next week’s blog, or the week after. Time will tell. That doesn’t mean I didn’t listen to some good music, because I did. I listened to Martha and the Muffins sing about Echo Beach, a good slice of Canadiana. The Hoodoo Gurus tell us that Mars Needs Guitars. The Rolling Stones cooked up some Goats Head Soup, and John Prine sings about Sweet Revenge. I gave Sandinista from The Clash another good spin; it still has holding power for me. David Allan Coe was a fine listen. I enjoyed re-hearing some of his classic stuff, and “You Never Even Called Me By My Name” is a great song that parodies country and western music with a good old belly laugh. “And In The End,) I listened to The Beatles on Abbey Road, which brings us back to the start and the title of this blog.
